Jamun Racing`s Nathan Freke almost pulled off a suprise win in Race 1.

Lining up for race 1 hopes where high for a good result in Nathan`s first ever front row start in a car race. The lights go red and then out and nathan gets a super start and is away in the lead. Over the next 2 laps he is heavily pressured by the 2 following cars but holds the advantage . On lap 3 the cars behind tangle and leavs Nathan with a breathing space which builds to 3 seconds over the next few laps, but struggling to control the car under braking and with a lack of grip the chasing group start to eat into the lead. With two laps to go the gap is down to 1.7 seconds when a mistake at the chicane costs dea and allows the 2nd place car to get along side at the start of the last lap and into the lead. Determined to fight back Nathan chases back and is along side over the start finish line but loses out by 3 hundreths of a second and has to settle for 2nd place. Comments ` I had the lead for a long time and it is always easier to chase, the car was a bit slippery and never really came on, we will see what happens on Monday in race 2`
