1999
Nathan commenced kart racing in May 1993 in a 60cc cadet kart, after limited success he changed class on his 11th birthday in 1994 to Formula Junior TKM in a 100cc kart. During the next 4 - ½ years Nathan achieved considerable success at both club and national level and was the leading Project One Racing kart driver during this period. In January 1999 because of his increasing height and weight, Nathan joined the ranks of Formula Senior TKM as one of the favourites for the National title, only 3 months after his 15th birthday. Unfortunately whilst he enjoyed unparalled success at club level, bad luck and mechanical problems dogged his national ambitions.
